The Met Office has advised that most parts of the UK will be affected by Storm Darcy.
The storm will bring freezing conditions and snow and ice to many places. We are acutely aware that many of our elderly and disabled members, many of whom are still shielding will be affected by this storm.
This weather will make things even more difficult for them, and we would ask everyone to please look out for any elderly or disabled people you may know. Due to the adverse weather, it will be challenging for them to get out of their homes to collect food or medicines, so your support will be invaluable.
It is very sad to have to say but many people also struggle with fuel poverty and they have a difficult decision to make between food or warmth. It is imperative in these adverse weather and freezing conditions that they are able to have heat in their homes, we must help them.
